The FDA continues to monitor the inappropriate marketing and use of biologics in medicine. They are starting to take punitive action on providers that offer these services under false claims that they improve or cure pain and diseases associated with bones/muscles/joints/tendons and ligaments. We have provided a ling to several pdf files from FDA.gov regarding this topic that may be of interest to patients/consumers. Also on the FDA.gov website are forms and links that consumers can use to report false marketing claims, suspected misuse of products (especially “stem cells” and other biologics that are unlawful to use outside of an approved FDA study protocol). Please take the time to educate yourself before you choose to pay for treatments that are unlawful and unproven to be safe and effective. The long term side effects of any of these injectables has not been proven to be safe.
