I have been a triathlete for 30 years now, thanks to Dr. David Bailie and his surgical skill in putting my shoulders back together after bike accidents, ski accidents, and general wear and tear from swimming most of my life. I had a great deal of success for the first 13 years traveling the world as a professional triathlete competing in Ironman Triathlons, until I was hit by a car while riding my bike, breaking my elbow and shoulder. Dr. Bailie repaired the rotator cuff and biceps biceps tendon a few years later after I could no longer stand the pain when I trained. Eight months later, I returned to Ironman. Dr. Bailie subsequently fixed the opposite shoulder three years later and I once again qualified for Hawaii Ironman while winning my age group at a half Ironman distance in Monoco.
