Throwback Thursday— to 2003, when Dr. Bailie was one of two US surgeons invited to join a European development team to collaborate on the Promos Total Shoulder System.
Dr. Bailie, in conjunction with Todd Ellenbecker, PT, are finalizing their data for publication on Dr. Bailie’s cases of resurfacing arthroplasty of the shoulder. Dr. Bailie has been a worldwide leader in this area of shoulder surgery since the device was FDA approved for use in the US in 2001.
Numerous studies have shown that arthroscopic surgery for a degenerative knee does not result in long-term improvement (> 2 years).
This is common practice and one reason Dr. Bailie will no longer trains residents and fellows and believe the patient chooses a surgeon to perform all of the surgery from start to finish without exception.
