Despite the mass marketing and proliferation of clinics in the US, regenerative medicine therapies still are unproven, especially in the young athlete. There does not exist any proven and reliable data on the benefits of ANY regenerative medicine therapies in pediatric/adolescent patients and the long term negative affects are unknown. This paper summarizes the opinions of a group of researchers, ethicists and sports medicine clinicians whose task it was to determine if current regenerative medicine therapies are appropriate in this group of patients.
